The story of Meezan

Meezan was born where a national vision met a practical mandate — and an engineering company decided to do something about it.

How Meezan came to be

A vision, a mandate, and a behaviour shift.

The UAE set an ambitious goal — net zero by 2050. Cooling is the biggest lever to get there. So the market changed the rules: cooling can no longer hide inside rent. It must be measured and billed on its own. That single change turns cooling into something people can see, understand and act on — and that is where Meezan begins.

A national commitment to net zero. Cooling drives a huge share of the country’s power demand — making it efficient is one of the fastest routes to the target.

02 · The mandate

Cooling billed on its own

Regulation now requires chiller and cooling charges to be split out from rent — metered per unit, billed fairly and capped, like electricity and water.

03 · The shift

Behaviour changes

When people pay for the cooling they actually use, they use it more wisely — higher setpoints, off when away. Fair billing quietly nudges the whole country toward net zero.

From Sifr Energy came Meezan — the first solution, taking on the Gulf’s biggest energy load: cooling.

Why the name
ميزان

Meezan means balance.

In Arabic, ميزان (meezan) is the scale — the age-old symbol of fairness and precise measurement. That is the whole idea, and it works two ways at once: balance in fairness, and balance for the environment.
